The Monopolies and Mergers Commission (MMC) has produced a confidential report looking at whether in-house mortgage valuation is fair trading. The MMC has passed its findings to the DTI who will decide if the report will be published and in what form. The RICS and the ISVA support the idea of individuals commissioning their own valuations.
