When the Government set up the Local Government Commission to review local government structure, boundaries and electoral arrangements the DoE commissioned the authors to report on the range and nature of data sources for mapping community boundaries. The report also included discourse on the feasibility of incorporating the data sources into a GIS system. Summarises the GIS recommendations.
