The Crown Estate has `weathered the recession very well`, its payment to the Exchequer rose 8.4% to £75.9m for the year to end of March 1993. The first commissioner predicts that the Leasehold Reform, Housing and Urban Development Bill will have a `considerable effect` on the estate.
