In R v SoS Environment ex parte JBL Financial Consultants , QBD 28 October 1988, it was held that the form of notice of appeal provided clearly that where the last date for appealing fell over a weekend, the appeal must be made on the previous Friday. The SoS has no jurisdiction to consider an appeal made after a time-limit, the court has no discretion to extend the time-limit.
