In Phillips v Mobil Oil Co Ltd , ChD 8 July 1988, the defendants submitted a planning application for development of a leased property and the plaintiff alleged that the defendants were in breach of the terms of the lease which required the landlord`s prior consent to such an agreement. The defendants were granted that the options were void for want of registration of the lease renewal .
