Surveyors, who have set up on their own or work in small practices, face difficulties in getting on a building society`s panel since the societies expect reciprocal business. Where there is a conflict of interest when an estate agency is owned by a lender, the RICS is considering a scheme, whereby the purchaser would be made aware of this situation.
