The Land Registry has issued a discussion paper proposing possible means of extending the registration of title scheme to cover land held by public authorities, landed estates, industrial corporations and others who have no need to sell. Among proposals is the extension of `trigger events` to include mortgages, gifts, conveyances into settlement, and dispositions on death.
