QBD 1 March 1993. G demised premises on a 25-year lease to T, the original tenant, who assigned them to two further tenants (the tenant). It was the tenant who signed a deed for the final period under rent review in 1987 but failed to pay the rent due March 1992. G commenced proceedings to recover the arrears from T. There was dispute over whether the terms of the deed, which included a stepped rent, were consistant with the lease. Held in G`s favour.
