Farrant v Unisys Europa-Africa Ltd

Farrant v Unisys Europa-Africa Ltd - 1993 - Estates Gazette (1993) 32 EG 78-81(4) .

QBD 26 March 1993. The plaintiff (F) claimed that by an oral agreement made between himself and the defendant company (U) he was to be paid a commission if he found a purchaser for U`s premises. F therefore claimed £250,000 plus VAT as he had introduced a prospective purchaser. U denied this oral agreement and contended that the purchaser was never willing and able to purchase as for financial reasons the sale never took place. The court dismissed F`s claim as the agreement was never confirmed in writing and the purchaser never in fact bought the property.
