"MAES ECP No 1 plc v Stimson" QBD 15 May 1995. The finance company, having had to repossess and sell a property at a loss, claimed that the surveyors open market valuation was negligent. Held that the surveyor had competently valued the property, seeking comparables to confirm his valuation and not including any hope value or change of use.
