The Housing Minister speaking at the Housing Corporation Conference urged housing associations to return to their role of building new homes on a modest scale and rehabilitating existing homes rather than their more recent role of providers of large scale social housing. Private landlords are to be encouraged to hand day-to-day management of properties to housing associations.
