In Chilton v Telford Development Corporation CA 8 December 1986 it was held that for the purposes of calculating compensation for disturbance and interest on the purchase price of agricultural land subject to a compulsory purchase order, the material date was the date of the first entry on to the land described in the statutory notice of entry.
