"R v Dovermoss" CA 3 February 1995, held that for the purposes of Water Resources Act 1991 s85(1) the meaning of the word `pollute` was defined in the Oxford English Dictionary and the term `controlled waters` in s85 as defined by s104(1)(c) and s221, applied to watercourses such as streams, ditches, drains even if such watercourses overflowed or dried up.
