In Balabel and another v Air India , CA 16 March 1988, it was held that most communications between client and solicitor in a conveyancing transaction are likely to be privilege d and non-discoverable, but a letter from a client to his solicitor informing of the sale of some property would not be written in the context of requiring or giving legal advice and would not be protected by legal privilege .
