"London City Corporation v Fell & others; Herbert Duncan Ltd v Cluttons". CA 25 November 1992. An assignor ceases to be contractually liable to a landlord on expiry of a business lease, and the landlord therefore, is not able to claim from that tenant arrears arising from the assignee`s default. Thus held the court in dismissing an appeal by the plaintiff, City of London Corporation.
