In "Network Housing Association Ltd v Westminster CC" QBD 1 November 1994 it was held that a noise abatement notice was defective where there was a complaint of noise pollution contrary to Environmental Pollution Act 1990 s79(1)(g) involving difficult questions of sound levels and nuisance and it required only that a particular result be achieved and did not state what work was to be put in hand.
