"Betts v Brintel Helicopters" is the first UK case to consider the ECJ decision in "Suzen v Zehnacker". The ECJ held that the EU Acquired Rights directive implemented in UK law by the TUPE Regulations 1991 did not automatically apply when contracted services changed from one provider to another. Contractors are seeking new legislation to protect employee rights.
