Marshall v Rubypoint Ltd - 1997 - Estates Gazette [1997] 25 EG 142-145(4) .

CA 31 January 1997. Under a lease the landlord covenanted to maintain, repair and redecorate the common parts of a house which had been converted into flats. The house was burgled and the plaintiff claimed against the defendant landlord for breach of repair to the front door. This was allowed in court and he was awarded costs. The landlord appealed but this was dismissed on the grounds that the breach of covenant was a cause of the burglary.
