The Department of the Environment is considering the future of PPG17 sport and recreation, its relationship to the review of other PPGs and the United Kingdom Strategy of Sustainable Development. After seven years it is clear that PPG17 fails to deal with the rapidly changing context of leisure development, such as the growth of interest in multiple-use stadia.
