Insulation may be faulty

After preliminary research results from the BRE showed that up to 40,000 homes may be affected by water penetration corroding cavity wall ties which could cause structural damage, the DETR is to commission a research programme of field survey checks of the condition of galvanised steel wire wall ties with a green identification film.
