HL 27 November 1997. The House of Lords had to determine the level of interest to be paid upon damages awarded following a negligent valuation. "Held" The date from which interest could be awarded was the date on which the lender actually suffered the loss attributable to the valuers` breach of duty. Accordingly, interest would be payable from 12 DEcember 1990.
