Reports on the results of research into the effects of the CDM Regulations on the construction industry. The research shows that although there is no hard evidence that health and safety has improved since the introduction of the regulations, there is now much more awareness of health and safety issues and CDM is likely to have a positive impact on business, leading to a more competent industry and better co-ordination of design and construction.
