The process of selecting a private sector consortium to build a new Channel Tunnel Rail Link has begun with the formal launch of a competition setting out how firms can pre-qualify. Companies have been set a deadline of 25 April to respond prior to the start of the formal tendering process in June and tenders have to be returned by December.
