CA 28 November 1997. G made a request for a new tenancy under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 s26, addressing it to the British Railways Board which had since been taken over by Railtrack. The British Railways Board informed G of change of landlord by a pro-forma letter, which also gave them notice. R refused new tenancy. G made a second request claiming the notice was invalid as it was served on the British Railways Board who was not the landlord at theat time. R appealed. Appeal allowed.
