Substantial legislation has been enacted since the Stevens report was published in late 1976. The author identifies several of the minerals surveyor`s activities and discusses legislation as it affects each. It is the author`s conclusion that although the Stevens report has been successful in forming the basis for legislation, there is still excessive opposition to mineral operations. Reference.
