Due to increasing competitiveness in the estate agency profession, caused mainly by the buying up of firms by the financial institutions , both commerical and residential agents have to market themselves more aggressively. The article reports on how computers help agents provide a more efficient service to their clients and provides a list of criteria to be applied when buying a computer system. Concludes with a list of systems currently available, giving details of the suppliers, hardware requirements, the kind of business catered for by the system and the price.
