Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott has unveiled plans for radical reform of transport in a white paper, "New Deal for Transport", which aims to provide more choice for transport users, better integration of transport services and a transport system which is safe, efficient, clean and fair. The reforms aim to reduce the importance of the car and to promote the train, bus and the bicycle. Table. Graphs.
