The Court of Appeal ruling in the case of "Garston v Scottish Widows Fund & Life Assurance Society" has removed any suspicion that tenancies under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 can be terminated without sacrificing the statutory right to a new lease of the premises at market rent.
