The villagers of Boothorpe in Leicestershire are planning to go to the European Court of Human Rights in a bid to stop an open cast mine being used as a rubbish dump. The residents claim that the privatisation of the landfill industry in the 1980s has deprived them of their right tp compensation for planning blight.
