The recent recovery in the housing market is leading to allegations that estate agents are returning to unfair practices such as the `sub-sale` of houses. A sub-sale is when an agent with-holds information from a vendor about the highest offer so it can be bought by a third party for a lower price before being resold by the agent for a profit.
