Examines the case of "McAnarney v Hanrahan and T E Potterton Ltd" where an auctioneer informed a purchaser that the freehold of a property they wished to purchase would cost £3,000. The plaintiffs bought the property and later applied to purchase the freehold, finding out that the acutal asking price was £40,000.
