The Hallmarking (Hallmarking Act Amendment Regulations) 1998 and the Hallmarking (Hallmarking Act Amendment) Order 1998 which came into force on 1 January will bring UK law in line with the rest of Europe and should also make hallmarks easier to understand for consumers.
