Dutch contractors are looking for opportunities for expansion in the Europe an construction market in areas such as Germany , as recession hits their own industry. The french construction industry is feeling the effect of the Gulf crisis with contracts being terminated in Kuwait and Iraq . Attempts have also been made to reduce corruption in France with a new law to monitor the contract awarding procedures with strict penalties for abuse of the system.
