Land measures approved - 1999 - Weekend Financial Times 20/21 March 1999, 2(1) .

Thailand's Senate has approved changes to property laws which will allow foreign investors to own land in the country for the first time. Other measures include increasing the land lease period to 50 years and allowing leases to be used as loan collateral - measures which will make leasing commercial and industrial property more attractive for investors.
