Pesticide tax threat

Pesticide tax threat - 1999 - Farmer`s Guardian 26 March 1999, 4(1) .

A Government consultation paper recommends a 30% tax rate which would discourage pesticide use between 4-20%, though the report is uncertain about the extent of environmental benefits. The British Agrochemical Association argue that any tax would affect the competitiveness of UK agriculture.
