A report by Transport 2000, ACRE a voluntary organisation representing rural areas and Platform, which is an umbrella for 80 groups campaigning for better rail services, maintains that rail privatisation with increased fares, fewer services will bring pressure for roadbuilding and will hit rural areas most.
