No change on rating for prescribed industries

Industries which currently have their rateable values prescribed by government will continue to do so. These are: electricity generators, the National Grid, Regional Electricity companies, British Gas Transco, Railtrack, London Underground, the water companies and large docks & harbours. The Valuation Office Agency (VOA) and the Scottish Assessor's Association have decided that although conventional assessment would be feasible, the results would be far from clear.
