New guidelines on concrete rot - 1999 - Construction News (6610) 8 April 1999, 14(1) .

The Highways Agency has issued guidance for contractors to guard against the thaumasite form of sulphate attack (TSA). So far, 22 cases of TSA have been found. It occurs when there are sulphates in the ground and the risk is greater the more carbon content there is in the buried concrete.
