A study by Demos questions the idea that mixed tenure estates are the answer to deprived neighbourhoods. It found that although owner-occupiers did not mind moving onto mixed tenure estates, contact between owners and renters was below the national average and the overall satisfaction with crime, graffiti, noise and friendliness was below the national average for social housing.
