Surveyors claiming race discrimination

Surveyors claiming race discrimination - 1999 - Western Mail 26 May 1999, 5; 27 May 1999, 11(2) .

Two chartered surveyors failed in a race discrimination case which claimed that they were paid less because they are Welsh. They were employed in Royal and Sun Alliance Property Services' Cardiff office on a basic salary of £20,000, and had to generate £275,000 a year in business to raise this to £40,000 through bonuses. Colleagues in Bristol needed to create only £110,000 a year to earn £40,000. However the tribunal ruled that although there were grounds for grievance, there was no discrimination.
