Housing inspections

Housing inspections - 1999 - Housing Today (135) 27 May 1999, 1&3(1) .

Housing bodies are worried that inspection teams set up to scrutinise local authority housing will be unable to cope with the 100 housing inspections that the Audit Commission expects each year. The proposed 'star rating' system has also been rejected as too simplistic. In addition it seems unlikely that tenants will be included in the teams because of the management experience required, although consultation with tenants is 'axiomatic'.
