A British Property Federation survey, Conversion of redundant commercial space to residential use, show that property owners are retaining redundant commercial space despite government calls to convert it to residential use, and that those conversions that do take place are largely on an ad hoc basis. The study calls for new financial incentives to encourage conversions, including business rate reductions and tax rebates in specific cases. The study is available for £15 from 0171 828 0111.
