The Finnish Presidency of the European Union declined to hold a planned vote on "droit de suite" after it became clear that at least six member states, led by the UK, opposed the scheme. The planned levy would give artists a royalty on resale of their work. The British Art Market Federation (BAMF) wants the EU to abandon the proposal as it could drive business elsewhere.
