LT 25 February 1999. The tenants (S) of a cottage-style house served a notice of claim to acquire the freehold under the Leasehold Reform Act 1967, and the leasehold valuation tribunal determined the enfranchisement price at £459 000. The landlords (E) appealed the valuation, and S cross-appealed, contending that E were not entitled to a rehearing. Held, appeal allowed and the cross-appeal dismissed. The enfranchisement price was £519 000.
