Discusses the role of the expert witness under the new Civil Procedure Rules (CPR). Part 35 of the CPR sets out the requirements for the expert's report. The aim is to restrict expert evidence to those issues where it is really required. In Stevens v Gullis and another the expert would not co-operate, and was barred from giving evidence.
