Explains the effects of four amendments to the asbestos regulations coming into force in 1999 and 2000. In particular, plans to amend the Control of Asbestos at Work (CAW) Regulations 1987 will require people in control of non-domestic premises to identify, assess and manage asbestos risks in their buildings. This is an extension of the current basic duty to manage asbestos. Summarises the risks of asbestos and methods of carrying out an asbestos survey & risk assessment.
