Llewelyn-Davies has devised a matrix for calculating suitable densities for different urban locations. It recommends densities of up to 900 habitable rooms per hectare in central locations, almost four times higher than the present recommended maximum of 250. This will be published as part of a report for London Planning Advisory Committee, Sustainable residential quality (large sites).
