Research by the US Dept. of Agriculture analysed commercial crop results for 1997 & 1998 in regions where both traditional and genetically modified crops were grown. In two thirds of the regions yields of genetically modified crops were no better than conventional crops, and in over half, pesticide use was almost identical.
