The Country Landowners' Association (CLA) criticises the conclusion in a report on the proposed sell-off of defence land that the principle of justice found in the Crichel Down code is 'out-moded and counter-productive'. In response to the Development of the redundant defence estate issued by the DETR, the CLA argues that the Crichel Down rules should be strengthened rather than weakened.
