English Heritage (EH) calculates that the cost of repairing England's buildings at risk amounts to only £400m. An update of its Buildings at risk register which lists all grade I and II buildings and ancient monuments at risk records around 21% of the register, or 230 buildings, are in immediate danger of further deterioration. In light of this evidence EH hopes government will recognise the need for funding.
